Carburetor engines — general description (Nissan Bluebird T12)

The fuel system consists of a fuel tank mounted at the rear of the vehicle, a fuel pump mechanically driven by the camshaft and a two-chamber carburetor with an automatic air damper.

The intake manifold is heated by coolant to optimize the air-fuel mixture.

The exhaust manifold is cast iron and has an air duct heater as part of the air intake system.

The exhaust pipe consists of three sections, including a curved head, a muffler and an expansion box. It is attached to rubber hangers under the car.

The air filter contains an automatically controlled, hinged air thermal flap.
