Antifreeze and corrosion inhibitors — general information (Nissan Murano Z50)

0
If the temperature is expected to drop below 0°C, it is necessary to drain some of the coolant and add an appropriate amount of ethylene glycol antifreeze to the cooling system. If antifreeze is not used, it is recommended to add a corrosion inhibitor to the cooling system in the proportion recommended by the manufacturer.

You need to use a branded antifreeze based on ethylene glycol. Do not use alcohol-based antifreeze as it evaporates too much.

Most fluids with anti-corrosion additives can remain in the cooling system for up to two years, but it is recommended to measure the specific gravity of the fluid after 6 months and repeat these measurements every 3 months.

Below are the proportions for adding antifreeze and the freezing temperatures of these mixtures.

33-19-36
50-36-43

Caution: Do not use antifreeze in your windshield wiper fluid as it will damage your vehicle's paint.
