1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the generator wiring. Unscrew the nut and gasket, release the ground wiring, disconnect the multi-pin plug from the socket.
3. Loosen the alternator pivot bolts and the governor retaining bolt. Loosen the governor nut or bolt until the drive belt is slack enough to remove from the pulley.
4. Remove the pivot bolts and governor lock bolt, remove the generator from the engine.
5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Adjust the tension of the drive belt as described in Section 1, connect the generator and battery.
