Interior lighting (Nissan X-Trail T31)

General lighting lamp (if any)

• This lamp has a three-position switch. To turn on the light, move the switch to position (1). When you set the switch to position (2) The interior lighting is switched on when the tailgate is opened. To switch off the lighting, set the switch to position (2).
• The interior light timer will keep the interior light on for approximately 15 seconds if.
• The ignition key is in the LOCK position and the key is not in the ignition switch (models with Intelligent Key system).
• The ignition key is removed from the ignition switch and all doors are closed.
• The driver's door is not locked and the ignition key is removed from the ignition switch. The doors are closed and the key is removed from the ignition switch.
• The interior light timer will not operate if:

The driver's door is locked.


The ignition key is turned to the ON position.

• If the ignition key is turned to the OFF (3) position, the interior light will not come on regardless of other conditions.

Individual lighting lampshades

Front car lighting lamps

• This lamp has a two-position switch. Press the lamp (A) to turn the light on and off. When the switch is set to the DOOR position, the interior lighting turns on when the car door is opened.
• The interior light timer will keep the interior light on for approximately 15 seconds if:

- The ignition switch is in the LOCK position and the key is not in the ignition switch (models with Intelligent Key system).

- The ignition key is removed from the ignition switch and the driver's door is closed. The driver's door is unlocked and the key is removed from the ignition switch. The doors are closed and the key is removed from the ignition switch.

• The interior light timer will not operate if: The driver's door is locked. The ignition key is turned to the ON position.
• If the ignition key is turned to the OFF position, the interior light will not turn on regardless of other conditions.

Rear lights (if any)

This lamp has a three-position switch.



A. OFF (off).

V. DOOR (turn on when doors are opened).

C. ON (on).

• When the switch is set to the DOOR position [pos. (B)], the interior lighting turns on when the vehicle door is opened.
• The interior light timer will keep the light off for 15 seconds if:

- The ignition key is removed from the ignition switch and the driver's door is closed.

- The ignition key is in the LOCK position and there is no key in the ignition switch.

- The driver's door is not locked and the ignition key is removed from the ignition switch.

- The doors are closed and the key is removed from the ignition.

• The interior light timer will not operate if:

- The driver's door is locked.

- The ignition key is turned to the ON position.

• When the switch is set to the ON position [pos. (C)], the rear lamp comes on regardless of other conditions. If the ignition switch is turned to the OFF position [pos. (A)], the rear lamp does not come on regardless of other conditions.

Luggage compartment light.

This lamp has a three-position switch. To turn on the light, move the switch to position (1). When you set the switch to position the interior lighting is switched on when the luggage compartment door is opened. To switch off the lighting, set the switch to position (2).
