2. Disconnect the wires from the license plate light and remove them from the mounting brackets on the trunk lid.
3. Mark the position of the hinge on the back of the trunk lid with a pencil.
4. Ask an assistant to support the cover, then unscrew the hinge mounting bolt (see photo) and take it off.

5. If necessary, the trunk lid torsion bars can be removed. The hinge guides can also be removed by removing the pins and fasteners at the outer end of each hinge pin.
6. Reassemble in reverse order, but apply a little grease to the hinge pins. Do not tighten the hinge guide bolts until the trunk lid has been aligned with the body. For adjustment, see Chapter 22.
7. To remove the trunk lid - open it completely, unscrew the lock nuts and pull out the plastic clips. Remove the lid, noting the position of the seal. Assembly is done in the reverse order.
8. No information about installing emblems (where it is equipped).
