Attention! On some models, the front seat belts are equipped with pyrotechnic automatic tensioners that are triggered if the directional overloads exceed a certain value!
Do not remove the seat belt returner assemblies or disconnect the electrical wiring from the pretensioner assemblies. Any malfunction of the automatic tensioner devices will cause the SRS warning lamp to come on on the vehicle's instrument panel. In such a situation, the car should be immediately driven to a service station for troubleshooting and refurbishment of the relevant systems.
The body of the cars considered in this Guide has a universal design, the supporting element of which is a floor panel equipped with front and rear spars and forming a kind of frame, to which, in turn, body panels, suspension components, steering, etc. are attached.
Some of the body parts most vulnerable in the event of an accident are bolted and can be easily replaced. These removable components include moldings, bumpers, door panels, hood, trunk lid and all windows. Only the most common procedures for the repair and maintenance of body components fall within the qualifications of the average amateur mechanic.
