Xenon headlights — adjusting the beam direction of fog lights (Nissan X-Trail T31)

Description

Preparation before adjustment

Note: For more details, please refer to the regulations applicable in your country.

Before adjusting the headlight aim, check the following:

• Adjust the pressure in all tires to the correct level.
• Fill with engine coolant, engine oil and fuel.
• Bring the vehicle to an unloaded state (Remove luggage from the vehicle interior and trunk).

Note: Leave the spare tire, jack and standard tools.

• Wipe off any dirt from the headlights.

Attention:

• Do not use organic solvents (thinners, gasoline, etc.).
• Place the person in the driver's seat.

Headlight aiming screw

• Adjust the headlight beam direction by turning the adjusting screws.
• See the figure for the locations of the adjustment screws.

Note: Adjust using a screwdriver or Allen key (6mm).

Headlight aiming adjustment procedure

1 Install the screen.

Note:

• Stop the car in front of the wall.
• Place the screen vertically on a level road.

2. Stop the car in front of the screen. Stop the car so that the distance between the centers of the fog lights and the screen is 10 m.



3. Start the engine. Turn on the fog lights.

Caution: Do not cover the surface of the diffuser with tape, etc., as it is made of plastic.

Note: Block the light from the headlights with a screen, etc. so that it does not fall on the adjustment screen.

4. Adjust the cut-off line (A) using the adjusting screws so that the distance (X) between the horizontal center line of the fog lamps (H) and line (A) becomes 200 mm.
