Xenon headlights (for some vehicle versions)

Attention.

• When in use, xenon headlights are under high voltage. To avoid electric shock, do not modify or disassemble the headlights. Always have your xenon headlights repaired or replaced by an authorized Nissan dealer.
• Xenon headlights produce a much brighter beam of light than conventional headlights. If they are out of adjustment, they may temporarily blind the driver of an oncoming vehicle or the vehicle in front of you, which could lead to a serious accident. If the headlights are out of adjustment, contact an authorized Nissan dealer immediately to have them adjusted.

When you first turn on your xenon headlights, their brightness or light color may change slightly. However, the brightness and light color should soon stabilize.

The service life of xenon headlights is reduced by frequent switching on and off. Therefore, it is advisable not to switch off the headlights if you need to switch them on again after a short period of time.

If a xenon headlight bulb is close to burning out, its brightness will be significantly reduced, the light will become reddish in color, and the headlight will begin to flicker. If one or more of the above symptoms occur, contact your authorized Nissan dealer.

Headlight switch

Turn the switch to the position .

(1) The front and rear side lights, the license plate light and the instrument panel light are switched on. The =dg= indicator on the instrument panel is switched on.

Turn the switch to the position .

(2) In addition to other external lighting devices, the headlights will turn on.

Caution: Do not leave exterior lights on for long periods of time when the engine is not running.

Daytime running lights (for some vehicle versions)

Even if the central headlight switch remains in the off position, the following lights are automatically switched on after the engine is started: low beam headlights, front and rear side lights, license plate light and instrument panel light. However, it is not possible to switch from low beam to high beam unless the headlight switch is switched on.

When the headlight switch is turned to the position , the low beam headlights turn off.

Automatic Lighting Control System Auto (for some vehicle versions)



This system provides automatic switching on and off of outdoor lighting devices. When this system is activated, it:

• automatically turns on the headlights, front and rear side lights, license plate light and instrument panel lighting when darkness falls;
• automatically switches off the listed lighting devices when the outside illumination is high.

To activate the automatic lighting control system

1. Turn the light switch to the "AUTO" position (1).

2. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.

To disable the automatic lighting control system

Turn the light switch to the "OFF" position, or .

Turning on high beam headlights

(1) To turn on the high beam, push the switch lever forward when the switch is in the position . The indicator lights up simultaneously with the high beam high beam.

(2) To switch to low beam, pull the lever towards you (to position ).

(3) You can flash the high beam headlights by pulling the lever toward you even if the headlight main switch is in the off position.

Lighting when getting out of the car

This function is designed for your convenience. It provides illumination of the area around the vehicle after the ignition is switched to the "LOCK" position and the main headlight switch is turned to the "OFF" or "AUTO" position (for some vehicle versions). If you pull the lever towards you once, the headlights will remain on for about 30 seconds. After this time, the headlights will automatically turn off.

The lever can be pulled up to four times to increase the headlight delay to two minutes.

Note: The home exit lighting function is cancelled when the key or ignition switch is turned to the ACC (Accessory Power Consumption) or ON (Ignition On) position.

Battery discharge prevention function

This feature prevents the battery from discharging if you leave the vehicle with the exterior lights, ambient lights, or the interior lamp on. This feature operates when the ignition switch is in the "OFF" or "LOCK" position.

Note: When the engine is started again, the exterior lights, reading lights or interior lights will turn on again.

Energy saving function for outdoor lighting fixtures

If the exterior lights are accidentally left on when the ignition is turned off, they will be automatically turned off when the driver's door is opened.

You can leave the exterior lights on permanently by using the headlight switch when the ignition switch is in the "LOCK" or "OFF" position. In this case, a gong will sound as a reminder when you open the driver's door.

Energy saving function for interior lighting

The interior lighting switches off automatically after approximately 15 minutes if it is accidentally left on.
