Automatic transmission malfunction indicator (models with automatic transmission)
This indicator lights up when the automatic transmission fluid overheats or when the transmission goes into a special emergency mode when a malfunction is detected.
Automatic transmission fluid overheating indicator
This indicator comes on when the automatic transmission fluid is overheated. If this indicator comes on while driving, reduce your speed as quickly as possible until the indicator goes out.
Automatic transmission emergency mode
When the ignition switch is turned to the "ON" position, this indicator illuminates for two seconds. If the indicator flashes, it may indicate that the automatic transmission is not functioning properly. Contact an authorized Nissan dealer to have the automatic transmission checked and repaired.
Caution: Continuing to operate the vehicle with the automatic transmission malfunction indicator illuminated may result in serious transmission failure.
Stepless transmission malfunction indicator (variator; CVT)
This indicator lights up briefly each time the ignition is turned on (position "ON").
If this indicator comes on while driving, it indicates a problem with the CVT. Contact an authorized Nissan dealer to have the system checked and repaired.
Note: If a CVT malfunction occurs, a warning will appear on the center console display: "CVT ELECTRONIC CONTROL SYSTEM WARNING" ("Malfunction of the electronic control system CVT"). If after this you press the button "Detailed Information" ("Detailed information"), the display will recommend that you contact an authorized Nissan dealer to have the system checked.
ESP Dynamic Stability System Off Indicator (for some vehicle versions)
The indicator lights up when the ESP switch is set to the "OFF" position. This means that the ESP system is deactivated.
This indicator also briefly lights up every time the ignition is switched on ("ON" position). If the ESP system is working properly, the indicator should go out in about a second.
When the "ESP OFF" indicator and the SLIP indicator come on while the ESP system is on, this is a warning that the system is operating in a fail-safe mode. This means that the system cannot function properly. Contact an authorized Nissan dealer to have the system checked and repaired.
If a fault is detected in the system, the ESP system will stop working, but you can continue to drive the vehicle.
All-wheel drive system mode indicator "4WDAUTO" (models with 4WD system)
This indicator lights up briefly every time the ignition is switched on ("ON" position). When the engine is running, this indicator lights up if "4WD AUTO" mode is enabled.
All-wheel drive mode indicator "4WD LOCK" (models with 4WD system)
This indicator lights up briefly each time the ignition is turned on (position "ON").
When the engine is running, this indicator and the "4WD AUTO" mode indicator come on if the "4WD LOCK" mode is selected.
Glow plug indicator (diesel cars)
The glow plug indicator turns on when the ignition switch is set to the "ON" position and goes out when the glow plug preheating is complete. When the engine is cold, the duration of glow plug preheating increases.
Caution: If the indicator light remains on continuously, there may be a problem with the glow plug control system. Have the system checked by an authorized Nissan dealer.
Low fuel level alarm
The low fuel indicator lights up when the fuel level is running low. If possible, fill the tank with fuel before the pointer reaches the "O" mark (Empty Tank). The "O" position of the pointer corresponds to a small reserve of fuel in the tank.
SLIP indicator (for some variants, vehicle versions)
The SLIP indicator flashes when the ESP dynamic stabilization system is operating to warn the driver that the road surface is slippery and the vehicle's traction capabilities are limited.
The system may operate with some jolts or noise, which is not a sign of a malfunction.
The indicator flashes for a few seconds after the ESP system stops limiting wheel slip.
Front fog light indicator (for some vehicle versions)
The fog light indicator light comes on when the front fog lights are turned on.
Rear fog light indicator
This indicator lights up when the rear fog light is turned on.
High beam indicator (blue)
This indicator lights up when the high beam headlights are turned on. The indicator turns off when the low beam headlights are turned on.
Low beam headlight indicator
This indicator comes on when the ignition switch is turned to position.
The headlights are switched on, but the front and rear side lights, license plate light and instrument panel lighting remain on.
Parking light indicator
The parking light indicator comes on when the front and rear parking lights, instrument panel lighting and rear license plate light are turned on. When the parking lights are turned off, the indicator goes off.
Indicator light for direction indicators and hazard warning lights
The direction indicator or hazard warning flashers flash when the direction indicator or hazard warning flashers are on.
Trailer direction indicator light
This indicator comes on if an additional electrical load is detected in the turn signal electrical system.
