Automatic transmission malfunction indicator (models with automatic transmission)
This warning lamp comes on when the automatic transmission fluid overheats or when the transmission goes into a special emergency mode when a malfunction is detected.
Signaling device for overheating of the working fluid of an automatic transmission
This warning light comes on when the automatic transmission fluid overheats. If this warning light comes on while driving, slow down as soon as possible until the warning light goes out.
Emergency mode automatic transmission
When the ignition is turned on «ON» this warning light comes on for two seconds. If the indicator flashes, this may indicate that the automatic transmission is not functioning properly. Have an authorized Nissan dealer check and repair the automatic transmission.
Attention. Continuing to operate the vehicle while the automatic transmission malfunction indicator light is lit may result in serious transmission failure.
Continuously Variable Transmission Malfunction Indicator (variator; CVT)
This warning light comes on briefly every time the ignition is turned on (position «ON»).
If this warning light comes on while driving, it means there is a problem with the continuously variable CVT transmission. Have the system checked and repaired by a Nissan Authorized Dealer.
Note. If a CVT malfunction occurs, a warning will appear on the display in the center console: «CVT ELECTRONIC CONTROL SYSTEM WARNING» («Malfunction of the electronic control system CVT»). If after that you click the button «Detailed Information» («detailed information»), the display will prompt you to contact an authorized Nissan dealer to have the system checked.
ESP Disable Indicator (for some vehicle variants)
The indicator lights up when the ESP switch is set to «OFF». This means that the ESP system is disabled.
This indicator also comes on briefly every time the ignition is turned on (position «ON»). If the ESP system is OK, the indicator should turn off after about a second.
Turning on the indicator «ESP OFF» and the SLIP indicator when the ESP system is on is a warning that the system is in emergency mode. This means that the system cannot function properly. Have the system checked and repaired by a Nissan Authorized Dealer.
If a malfunction is detected in the system, the ESP system will stop, but you can continue to operate the vehicle.
All-wheel drive system mode indicator «4WDAUTO» (models with 4WD system)
This warning light comes on briefly every time the ignition is turned on (position «ON»). When the engine is running, this indicator lights up if the «4WD AUTO».
All-wheel drive system mode indicator «4WD LOCK» (models with 4WD system)
This warning light comes on briefly every time the ignition is turned on (position «ON»).
When the engine is running, this indicator and the mode indicator «4WD AUTO» turn on when the mode is selected «4WD LOCK».
Glow plug indicator (diesel engine vehicles)
The glow plug indicator comes on when the ignition switch is turned to «ON» («On») and goes out after preheating is completed. When the engine is cold, the glow plug preheating time increases.
Attention. If the light stays on, it may indicate a malfunction in the glow plug control system. Have the system checked by an Authorized Nissan Dealer.
Low fuel warning light
The low fuel warning light comes on when the fuel level is low. If possible, fill the tank with fuel without waiting until the pointer arrow reaches the mark «ABOUT» («empty buck»). Arrow position «ABOUT» corresponds to a small reserve of fuel in the tank.
SLIP indicator (for some variants, vehicle performance)
The SLIP indicator flashes during ESP operation to alert the driver to slippery roads when the vehicle's traction is limited.
The operation of the system may be accompanied by shocks or noise, which is not a sign of a malfunction.
The indicator flashes for a few seconds after the ESP system stops limiting the vehicle's wheel spin.
Front fog lamp indicator (for some vehicle variants)
The fog lamp indicator light comes on when the front fog lamps are turned on.
Rear fog light indicator
This indicator lights up when the rear fog light is on.
High beam indicator (blue)
This indicator lights up when the high beam headlights are on. The indicator turns off when the low beam headlights are turned on.
Low beam indicator
This indicator comes on when the ignition switch is turned to the position.
The headlights turn on, but the front and rear position lights, the license plate light, and the instrument panel lights remain on.
Parking light indicator
The parking light indicator comes on when the front and rear position lamps, the instrument panel illumination, and the rear license plate lamp are turned on. When the side lights are turned off, the indicator turns off.
Indicator light for turn indicators and hazard warning lights on
The turn signal or hazard warning lights flash when the turn signal or hazard warning lights are on.
Trailer turn signal indicator
This indicator comes on if an additional electrical load is detected in the turn signal electrical system.
