Removal and installation
Removal
1. Drain the engine coolant from the radiator. See above.
Caution: Perform this operation when the engine is cold.
2. Remove the protective cover from the right front fender. See chapter "Interior and exterior body equipment".
3. Remove the drive belt. See chapter "Mechanical part of the engine".
4. Remove the water pump.
- Coolant will leak from the cylinder block, so place a container underneath.

Attention:
- Do not allow water pump blades to come into contact with other components.
- The water pump cannot be disassembled and must be replaced as an assembly.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Check after removal
- Perform a visual inspection to ensure that the water pump housing and vanes (A) are free of significant contamination or rust.
- Make sure there is no play in the blade shaft and that it rotates freely by hand.
- Replace the water pump assembly if necessary.

Post-installation check
- Check for coolant leaks by applying pressure using an adapter (suitable special tool) and the pump (suitable special tool). See above.
- Start the engine and warm it up. Conduct a visual inspection and make sure there are no coolant leaks.
