- Raise the front of the vehicle.
- Once the vehicle is raised, the drive shaft joint boots can be easily checked. Press the protruding parts of the cover (arrow) to the side where shown in the picture to identify possible damage.
- Turn the wheel and check both shaft boots for small cracks and broken spots.
- Check that the clamp is securely in place. Tighten the clamp if necessary.
- Traces of grease on the protective boots are a warning sign, as loss of grease or dirt or moisture getting inside will very quickly destroy the surface of the hinge.
- Replace damaged covers immediately. To do this, remove the drive shaft and disassemble it.
