2. Remove the retaining spring clip. Remove the pin securing the vacuum booster input rod to the pedal.
3. Loosen the return spring by disconnecting one end of it from the pedal.
4. Unscrew the pedal pivot bolt nut and washer, remove the pivot bolt and take out the pedal with bushings and return spring.
5. Carefully clean all parts, replace worn or damaged ones. Check the return spring and the working surfaces of the bearing of the pivot bushings and bolt.
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Apply a thin layer of universal grease to the working surfaces of the pedal pivot bearing and the pin.

7. Guided by Chapter 2 from this section, check the pedal height, free play and brake light switch installation, adjust if necessary. Reinstall all removed carpets and trim panels.
