1. Pull back the carpet and floor panel insulation pad. With the foot brake pedal fully released, measure the distance from the surface of the pedal pad rubber to the floor surface.
2. Compare the measurement result with the requirements of the Specifications. If necessary, make the appropriate adjustments (see below).
3. Loosen the lock nut behind the brake booster pushrod split pin.
4. Rotate the push rod to achieve the desired result.
5. Tighten the lock nut.
6. After completing the adjustment, check the amount of free pedal travel.
Free pedal travel
1. Press the pedal down slightly and measure the amount of travel until resistance to pressing occurs. Compare the measurement result with the requirements of the Specifications, and make appropriate adjustments if necessary.
2. Loosen the lock nut of the vacuum booster push rod split pin.
3. Rotate the rod to achieve the desired result.
4. Tighten the lock nut.
Height of pedal position in depressed state
1. With the engine running, fully depress the foot brake pedal and measure the distance from the surface of the rubber pad to the floor.
2. If the height of the depressed pedal position is below the permissible limit (see Specifications), check the brake system for signs of developing leaks or mechanical damage to components.
