1. Peel back carpet and floor panel insulation. With the foot brake pedal fully released, measure the distance from the pedal shoe rubber pad surface to the floor surface.
2. Compare the measurement result with the requirements of the Specifications. Make appropriate adjustments if necessary (see below).
3. Loosen the locknut behind the split pin of the brake booster pushrod.
4. Rotate the pusher rod to achieve the desired result.
5. Tighten locknut.
6. After completing the adjustment, check the pedal free play.
Pedal free play
1. Slightly press the pedal down and measure the amount of its travel until the moment of resistance to squeezing. Compare the measurement result with the requirements of the Specifications, if necessary, make the appropriate adjustment.
2. Loosen the locknut of the split finger of the vacuum booster pusher.
3. Rotate the stem to achieve the desired result.
4. Tighten locknut.
Depressed pedal height
1. With the engine running, fully depress the foot brake pedal and measure the distance from the surface of the rubber lining of its pad to the floor.
2. If the height of the depressed pedal is below the allowable limit (see specs), check the brake system for signs of leaks or mechanical damage to components.
