Attention! Some of the models in question are equipped with an additional security system (SRS). Be sure to deactivate the SRS system before servicing components located in the vicinity of the airbags (see chapter Onboard electrical equipment).
1. With proper adjustment of the parking brake, the travel of the lever of its actuator when applying moderate force to the handle should be 8 ÷ 10 clicks for models 1993 and 1994. issue and 10 ÷ 11 clicks for models since 1995 vol.
2. If the lever stroke is less than the specified allowable number of clicks, the brake may not be fully released, which is fraught with brake jamming. If the lever travel is too large, the parking brake may not be able to securely hold the vehicle when parking on a slope.
3. Remove the center console assembly to gain access to the parking brake cable adjuster (see chapter Body).
4. Turn the adjusting nut to achieve the desired lever travel. To tighten the cable, the nut should be rotated clockwise, to loosen - against.
5. Replace the console (see chapter Body).
