2. Remove the retaining spring clip and remove the pin with the head and hole for the cotter pin, keeping the vacuum booster rod.
3. Remove the four mounting nuts that secure the vacuum booster to the bulkhead/pedal assembly.
4. Inside the engine compartment, loosen the clamp and move the vacuum hose away from the booster rod. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the master cylinder reservoir housing.
5. Remove the two nuts that secure the master cylinder to the booster, disconnect the suspension, and move the hose and suspension assembly away from the work area.
6. Carefully move the master cylinder forward away from the servo block posts and rod.
7. Once the master cylinder is free from the vacuum booster, remove the block from the vehicle. When reassembling, replace the gasket if it is torn or damaged.

8. Reinstallation is the reverse of removal. Remember to install the gasket and do not overtighten the servo unit with the master cylinder mounting nuts: use a torque wrench. Remember to remove any air bubbles from the system and wash the parts from brake fluid. Check the pedal height, play and the installation of the rear brake light switch.
