Seat Safety System — General Description (Nissan Bluebird T12)

1. Driver's seat (turbo models) is equipped with inflatable air mats in the backrest and side pads, which are inflated by an electric air pump installed under the front seat. The pump is activated when one of the switches is in the on position.

2. To prevent damage, the air blower assembly has a safety valve, the pump motor has an overload protection element with automatic reset, consisting of a reverse current relay. If the pump stops during operation, stop and wait at least 30 seconds for the reverse current relay to reset, then you can continue driving.

3. The system is powered by the window lift circuit.

4. If the system has false alarms, it is better to disconnect the air hoses where they are connected with metal clamps.

5. When using the seat safety system, pay attention to the following points:

• (a) Do not sit in the seat for a long time with the engine off; high current draw can drain the battery if it is not recharged.
• (b) Do not operate the switches continuously for more than ten seconds, otherwise the pump may be damaged.
