Block-Controlled Deceleration Device (BCDD) — General Description (Nissan Bluebird T12)

1. This device is installed on engines with a manual transmission (photo) and is designed to reduce the emission of hydrocarbons and engine oil vapors during engine braking with the throttle valve closed. With high vacuum in the intake manifold, the system allows additional mixture for complete combustion.



2. On engines with automatic transmission, the BCDD is replaced by a valve activated by the starter inhibitor and the reversing light switch (Section 7) when the "N" or "P" positions are selected.

3. If the device is suspected of being damaged, it must be checked by a Nissan dealer.
