Try to park or park your car in a garage or under a carport.
When parking outdoors, choose a shady place or cover the car with a cover. Put on or take off the cover carefully so as not to scratch the paint.
Car wash
Wash off the dirt with a wet sponge and plenty of water. For thorough cleaning use mild soap or detergent (special soap for cars or universal dish detergent), along with clean and warm (but not hot) water.
CAREFULLY! Do not use harsh laundry soap, gasoline, strong detergents or solvents.
Pour plenty of clean water over the entire machine.
Internal flanges, door leaves and hinges, joints and bonnets are particularly susceptible to road salt and harmful substances. Therefore, these places must be cleaned regularly. Before washing the car, make sure that the drain holes at the bottom of the doors are open. Use a strong water jet to remove accumulated dirt on the underbody and wheel arches.
To avoid leaving marks from dried water, wipe the car dry with a damp chamois cloth.
Polishing
Regular rubbing with polishing paste protects the paintwork and helps keep the car looking good. After applying the paste, it is recommended to rub it properly to remove excess.
It is recommended that you contact your Nissan dealer to select the correct paste for your vehicle.
- Paste can be applied only after thorough washing. When using the paste, follow the instructions that come with it.
- To avoid damage to the paintwork, do not use a paste containing any abrasives or chemicals.
- If the surface is difficult to polish, it is recommended to first clean it with a tar remover and then reapply the paste.
Mechanical polishing or aggressive polishing agents should not be used to prevent tarnishing of the polish and the formation of circular marks.
For black urethane or polypropylene bumpers, use only black paste or black shoe polish.
Stain removal
Resin and oil stains, industrial dust, insect excrement and plant sap should be removed as soon as possible to avoid damage to the paintwork and the formation of indelible stains. Special cleaners are available to remove these substances. It is recommended that you contact your Nissan dealer to purchase them.
Underbody
In areas where roads are treated with road salt during the winter, the underbody must be cleaned regularly to prevent dirt and salt from accumulating and corroding the underbody and suspension. At the beginning and at the end of the winter season, the tightness of the bottom seals must be checked.
Glass cleaning
Use a glass cleaner to clean the glass surface from dust and soot. In the hot sun, the windows of a standing car can be covered with a film. It is recommended to remove it with a soft cloth and glass cleaner.
ATTENTION! When cleaning windows inside the passenger compartment, do not use sharp-edged objects, abrasives or chlorine-based disinfectants. These materials can damage electrical wiring or heated rear window elements.
Alloy steel wheels
Wheels should be washed regularly to prevent discoloration, especially in winter in areas where road salt is used.
Chrome parts
Chrome parts should be cleaned regularly with a non-abrasive chromium cleaner to maintain their polish.
Plastic parts
Wash with mild soapy water. If the dirt cannot be removed, it is recommended to use special cleaning agents for plastics. Solvents are not allowed.Interior cleaning
Regularly remove dust from the interior upholstery and seats with a vacuum cleaner or soft brush. Clean vinyl and leather surfaces with a clean, soft cloth dampened with mild soap and water, followed by wiping with a dry, soft cloth. Refer to the manufacturer's recommendations before using any waterproof protective case. Some types of waterproof covers contain chemicals in the fabric that can stain the seats.
ATTENTION!
- Do not use gasoline, thinners or other strong liquids for cleaning.
- Seat leather should be rubbed regularly with a leather wax, such as saddle soap, but never with car paste.
- Do not use waterproof protective cases unless specifically advised to do so.
Floor mats
Installed in the car, branded floor mats are designed to extend the life of the body carpet and to facilitate interior cleaning. Floor mats must be properly stowed in the footwells and must not interfere with the operation of the pedals. Carpets should be washed regularly and replaced when worn.
Seat belts
Seat belts should be cleaned with a sponge dampened in mild soapy water. Allow belts to dry thoroughly after cleaning. Do not allow the belts to be rolled into an inertia coil when wet. To avoid a significant reduction in the strength of the belt fabric, it is STRICTLY forbidden to use bleaches, dyes or chemical solvents.
