When adding or replacing coolant, use only ethylene glycol antifreeze in the correct dilution ratio. Be guided by the following examples:
Using other proportions of the solution may lead to failure of the cooling system.
The radiator is equipped with a sealed high pressure cap. It may only be replaced with a Nissan cover or equivalent.
CAREFULLY!
- Do not remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. Escaping hot fluid under high pressure can cause severe burns. Wait for the engine and radiator to cool down. Precautions to be followed are outlined in section "In case of engine overheating".
- Antifreeze is toxic and must be stored in labeled containers out of the reach of children.
Checking the coolant level
Check the coolant level in the expansion tank after the engine has cooled down. If the fluid level is below the mark "MIN", then it is necessary to fill it up to the level of the mark "MAX". If the reservoir is empty, check the coolant level in the radiator (also with a cold engine). If there is little liquid in the radiator, then it is necessary to fill the radiator up to the filler neck, and then the tank to the mark "MAX".
ATTENTION! If frequent coolant replenishment is required, have a Nissan dealer inspect the cooling system.
Coolant replacement
Major repairs to the cooling system must be carried out by a Nissan dealer according to the instructions in the appropriate "maintenance manual" Nissan company.
Improper maintenance of the cooling system can lead to reduced efficiency and engine overheating.
CAREFULLY!
• To avoid burns, do not change the coolant when the engine is hot. • Do not remove the radiator cap when the engine is cold. Escaping hot fluid under high pressure can cause severe burns.
1. Install the manual» su temperature control of the heater and air conditioner for maximum heating ("NOT").
2. Loosen and remove the radiator drain plug and cylinder block drain plug.
3. Open the radiator cap to drain the fluid.
4. Flush the cooling system with clean water by pouring it through the radiator cap. Tighten the radiator drain plug and cylinder block drain plug tightly.
5. Slowly pour the correct mixture of antifreeze and water into the radiator. Fill the expansion tank up to the mark "MAX". The capacity of the cooling system is indicated in chapter "Technical information".
7. Open and close the air plug to release air. Refill the radiator with liquid and close it with a cap.
8. Start the engine and let it warm up until the radiator fan starts. Then accelerate the engine at idle 2-3 times and check the coolant temperature gauge for overheating.
9. Stop the engine. After it has completely cooled down, refill the radiator to the level of the filler neck and the tank to the level "MAX".
10. Inspect drain plugs for leaks.
