1. Park the car on a level surface and set the parking brake.
2. Turn off the engine.
3. Unscrew the filter housing with its wrench (some engine models may require a special key with a cap chuck. For questions about this, contact your Nissan dealer). Remove the filter housing by completely unscrewing it by hand.
CAUTION: Use caution as engine oil may be hot.
4. Wipe the filter mounting surface with a clean cloth. Remove the old rubber gasket from the engine mounting surface.
5. Lubricate the rubber gasket of the new filter with new engine oil.
6. Tighten the filter until you feel slight resistance and tighten it another 2/3 of a turn.
7. Start the engine. Inspect the filter seat for leaks. Adjust it if necessary.
8. Turn off the engine and wait a few minutes. Measure the oil level. Top up if necessary.
CAREFULLY!
- Long-term and frequent contact with used motor oil causes skin damage, dermatitis and skin cancer.
- Avoid direct contact of used motor oil with skin. If oil does come into contact with skin, wash the affected area thoroughly.
- Keep used motor oil out of the reach of children.
