CAREFULLY!
- When working under the hood with the engine running, care must be taken to keep hands, clothing, hair and tools at a safe distance from fans, drive belts and other moving parts.
- Automatic transmission fluid is toxic. It must be stored in labeled containers out of the reach of children.
Temperature requirements during the verification procedure
The liquid level should be measured with a rod in the range "NOT" under the following conditions:
- The engine is warmed up to operating temperature.
- The car drove for at least 5 minutes.
- Automatic transmission fluid has a temperature in the range of 50-80°C.
If, after warming up the engine, the temperature of the liquid reached 30-50°C, but the car did not move from its place or drove for less than 5 minutes, then the liquid level can be measured in the range "COLD". However, you should check the level over the range again "NOT".
1. Park the vehicle on level ground and apply the parking brake.
2. Start the engine and shift the selector lever in all gears, ending in position "R".
3. Measure the fluid level with the engine running at idle.
4. Pull out the refill and wipe it clean with thick, lint-free paper.
5. Insert the rod into the tube until it stops.
6. Pull out the rod and measure the level. If it is less than the lower limit for each of the ranges, then it is necessary to add transmission fluid to the tube.
Do not add more than necessary.
ATTENTION!
- Use automatic transmission fluid made by Nissan or equivalent. Automatic transmission fluids are abbreviated as ATF. (Contact your Nissan dealer for information on suitable fluids).
- After driving at high speed for a long time, after heavy urban traffic in hot weather, or after towing a trailer, the transmission fluid level cannot be measured correctly. It is necessary to wait about 30 minutes until the liquid has cooled down.
