1. Visually inspect each belt for signs of fraying, cuts, twisting, or loose tension. If the belt web is defective or if the belt tension is loose, have a Nissan dealer replace or adjust the belt.
2. Regularly check the condition and tension of the belts according to the maintenance schedule in this manual.
GA and SR engines
1. Inspect belts for cracks, splitting, wear, and oiling. Belts with the specified defects replace.
2. Check the tension of the belts by measuring the deflection at the points indicated in the figures. Adjust tension if necessary.
Belt tension must be checked on a cold engine (not earlier than 30 minutes after its stop).
