2. It is rare that the carburetor needs to be completely disassembled; if this is required, then it is probably more cost effective to replace the complete unit. It is usually sufficient to remove the throttle chamber and clean the float chamber and jets.
3. Before removing the carburetor, check the fuel level.
4. Clean the outside surface of the removed carburetor.
5. Disconnect the accelerator pump and the fast idle valve linkage, disconnect the return springs.
6. Remove the screws and remove the throttle chamber from the carburetor body. Remove the gasket.
7. On the DCR carburetor, remove the screws, sight glass and float.
8. Unscrew and remove the jets (Figure 3.34, 3.36 and 3.37), noting the location of each. Do not disturb the position of the throttle and idle and mixture adjusting screws.

9. Clean the jets with compressed air. Check the float and the inlet needle valve. If necessary, unscrew the screws and remove the throttle chamber from the main body.
10. Assemble in reverse order.
