Closed Throttle Position Training (Nissan X-Trail T31)

The procedure is an operation to teach the ECM the closed position of the throttle valve by monitoring the output signal of the throttle angle sensor. It must be performed after replacing the throttle actuator or the ECM.

1. Preparation

Make sure all of the following conditions are met. If any of them are not met, even for a moment, the training procedure is cancelled.

Note: If the throttle valve is not working properly, the learning procedure may not take place.

• car speed: 0 km/h;
• accelerator pedal: released;
• battery voltage, more than 10 V (ignition key in the "ON" position without starting the engine);
• engine coolant temperature 20-100°C;
• intake air temperature: above -20°C;
• Proceed to point 2.

2. Conduct closed throttle position training

• Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position and wait for more than 10 seconds. Check by sound that the throttle valve moves within the specified 10 seconds. Go to step 3.

3. Check the DTC code

1. Turn the ignition key and wait at least 10 seconds.

2. Check the DTC code.

Code P1299 or P2109 is detected.
