In the automotive industry, modification processes are continuous and silent. And since spare parts are assigned numerical codes for convenience in their lists and user manuals, vehicle identification numbers are necessary for correctly ordering the required spare parts.
Location of the vehicle's primary identification numbers: 1 - plate with vehicle identification number; 2 — vehicle identification number (VIN); 3 - air conditioner technical data plate; 4 - Exhaust system information plate; 5 — FMVSS certification plate.
Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
This very important identification number is located on a plate that is attached to the left side of the dashboard, directly in the windshield recess. This number is also stamped on the engine compartment bulkhead in the middle and covered with a lid. It can tell a lot about a car. The VIN is also found on the vehicle registration document. It (VIN) contains information about where and when the vehicle was manufactured, the engine type, model year and body type.
Vehicle Certification Plate
Vehicle Certification Plate (also known as the Vehicle Insurance Certification Plate) attaches to the front of the left pillar (driver's side) doors.
The plate contains information: manufacturer's name, month and year of manufacture, certification information, VIN, information on the permissible load of the vehicle, information on wheels and tires, and codes used when servicing the vehicle.

Engine number
Information containing the engine code, serial number, and manufacturer's name is located in the engine number stamped on the ground surface of the cylinder block, on the flywheel side (arrow). The first group of characters indicates the engine code. The engine code can also be determined by the VIN code (fourth sign). The letter A indicates the VQ35DE engine.

Automatic transmission (CVT) identification number
The CVT identification number is located on the top of the CVT housing (arrow).
