Vehicle Identification Numbers (Nissan Micra K12)

The process of continuous improvement of manufactured products is a distinctive feature of any flow production. At the same time, except for cases of major design changes of models coming off the conveyor, the results of the modification process are not covered in the vehicle operating manual. However, the manufacturer draws up numbered lists of manufactured spare parts, due to which the information encoded in the identification numbers of the vehicle is of particular importance when purchasing the latter. When ordering a part, try to provide the seller with as much information about the vehicle as possible. Be sure to provide the model name, year of manufacture, as well as the body and powertrain numbers.

The VIN number consists of eight groups, its decoding is given below in the example:

• 4 — Drive: A - front (2WD);
• 5 - Model: K12;
• 6 - Target Market: U - Europe;
• 7 - Dividing symbol (doesn't matter);
• 8 — Vehicle serial number.
