Hood locks — removal and installation (Nissan Terrano 1)

1. The hood lock consists of two parts - a latch mounted on the inside of the hood, which engages with a lock fixed to the bulkhead of the car's front. Only the locking part of the lock is adjustable; the part to which the cable for opening the hood is attached is not adjustable.

2. To remove the lock, outline the contours of the mounting bolts and unscrew the bolts (photo).



3. When installing, align the bolts with the outlined contours.

4. To remove the retainer, remove the front decorative grille, unscrew the mounting screws, disconnect the drive cable and remove the retainer.

5. Periodically lubricate the latch and retainer.
