2. Disconnect the windshield washer hose.
3. Mark the position of the hinge plates on the back of the hood with a pencil.
4. Place the hood on the supports.
5. Have an assistant hold the hood down, then remove one center bolt on each hinge and lift the hood off the vehicle (see photo).

6. Reassemble in reverse order, using new sealant. Do not tighten the bolts until you are sure that the hood closes correctly. For more information on adjusting the hood lock, see Chapter 9.
7. The front bonnet and rear rubber seals are secured with plastic clips. The rear seals are also secured where necessary with double-sided tape or glue.
8. The front hood moldings are secured with three screws on their rear edges and double-sided tape on the front edges.
9. The hood air intake is secured with three nuts and a sealing gasket.
