2. Checking the coil consists of ringing the primary and secondary windings (Figure 4.11 and 4.12). Measure the resistance of each circuit with an ohmmeter and compare it to the specified tolerances. The readings will change with temperature, so the coil should be checked after the engine has been running for at least 15 minutes (warms up to normal operating temperature).
