Ignition coil (Nissan Murano Z50)

The ignition coil converts the low voltage in the primary circuit into high voltage in the high-voltage (secondary) circuit, which is supplied to the spark plug. Ignition coils are installed one per cylinder. To access the ignition coils of cylinders 1, 3, 5, you need to remove the cover of the panel in front of the windshield and the block behind the windshield.





To determine the fault code:

• Turn the ignition key to the ON position and start the engine.
• Turn the ignition key to the OFF position, wait 3 seconds, then turn it to the ON position.
• Turn on self-diagnosis mode.

Examination

• After disconnecting the ignition coil connector, check the primary winding of the ignition coil for continuity.
• An ohmmeter connected to contacts (3) and (2) should show a value from 0 to infinity, and to contacts (1) and (3) or (1) and (2) should show 0.

• If the measurement results do not match the required values, replace the ignition coil assembly.
