
The intake air temperature sensor (1) is built into the air cleaner (2). The sensor detects the intake air temperature and transmits a signal to the control unit. A thermistor is used as a temperature-sensitive element, which changes its resistance depending on the temperature.
The electrical resistance of a thermistor increases as the temperature decreases.
This sensor is not used directly to control the engine.
Examination
Check the resistance as shown in the figure.
