Location: The sensor (A) is located on the front engine cover.
Purpose: records the cylinder number signal.
Device: the sensor consists of a magnet (1), core (2), coil (3), seal (4) and contacts (5).
To determine the sensor fault code, do the following:
- Start the engine and let it idle for 5 seconds.
- After turning the ignition key to the OFF position, wait 3 seconds and turn it to the ON position.
- Run self-diagnosis mode.
To check:
- Disconnect the sensor harness connector.
- After loosening the sensor mounting bolt, remove the sensor.
- Check the resistance (see picture).
Required value: 1600±160 Ohm at 20°C (HITAHI) or 2320(0)+230 Ohm (MITSUBISHI).
