2. Unscrew the mounting screw and remove the speedometer gear assembly.
3. To disassemble the gear assembly, knock out the cylindrical pin (photo) and remove the gear, note the number of shims on the gear.
4.3 Select a cylindrical pin (marked with an arrow), to release the speedometer gear
4. Replace the O-ring and seal.
5. Replace the gear if the teeth are worn or damaged and check the condition of the bushing.
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Apply grease or transmission oil to the output shaft seal and the O-ring. Tighten the fastening screw with the tightening force specified Specification.
Note: The speedometer drive mechanism can be visually inspected by removing the pinion assembly and shining a flashlight into the hole. If the teeth are damaged, the transmission must be removed from the vehicle and disassembled enough to allow the pinion to be replaced.
