The heater uses the high temperature of the engine coolant waste. The coolant is pumped through a radiator in the heater housing, through which a radial fan and a four-speed motor force air, which dissipates the high temperature into the car's interior.
Fresh air enters the heater through the grille at the rear of the hood. Air leaves the car through the exhaust vents at the rear of the body.
The heater/fan is controlled by a lever that operates via cables to the flap flaps which deflect air flowing through the heater, varying the temperature and distributing the air between the heater outlets and the footwell.
