2. Loosen the clamp, remove the bulkhead cover. Remove the seat belt buckle switch base.
3. Check the clearance between the column and the pipe.
4. Remove the retaining ring, washer and spring washer from the upper end of the column, remove the column from the pipe.
5. Clean all components and check the condition.

When reassembling, install the spring correctly (photo) and lubricate the pivot bolt (and groove).
