Warning! The models of vehicles covered in this manual are equipped with a supplemental restraint system (SRS). Before performing any work near the air bag unit, steering column or instrument panel, turn off the SRS to avoid injury from accidental deployment (see Chapter On-board electrical equipment). The SRS circuit wiring is easily identified by the yellow color of the insulation.
1. Remove the knee support with the reinforcement plate (see section Removal and installation trim sections of the instrument panel).
2. On the right side of the steering column, remove the ignition switch trim.
3. Remove the screws securing the lower section of the steering column to the upper section.

4. Separate one section from the other and remove them from the steering column.
5. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
