Direct acting steering system
1. Apply the handbrake, engage 1st or reverse gear (manual transmission) or "R" (automatic transmission).
2. Remove the wheel caps and loosen the wheel nuts.
3. Raise the front of the car. Remove both wheels.
4. Disconnect the outer ball joints of the steering rods from the hub mounting element.
5. Turn the steering wheel to neutral position, remove the ignition key to lock the steering.
6. Remove the lower column connection.
7. Remove the four steering gear mounting bolts and two clamps.
8. Remove the steering gear through the hole on the side of any wheel.
9. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Tighten all nuts and bolts to the tightening torque specified in Specifications. Check the wheel alignment and turning angles.
Power steering system
10. Perform the preliminary dismantling described above in points 1-6.
11. Clamp the short flexible tube that is connected to the bushing on the steering gear housing, loosen the clamp and remove the tube from the bushing.
12. Clamp the large diameter pressure hose, unscrew the nut of the long sleeve (photo).

13. Under the vehicle, remove the two mounting screws to release the heat shield above the flexible part of the exhaust system, then remove the other two clamp bolts (photo).

14. In the engine compartment, disassemble the clamp, disconnect the supply pipe from the steering gear housing. Remove the O-ring from the housing hole.
15. Unscrew the four steering gear mounting bolts (photo), remove the two clamps.

17. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Check the toe-in and wheel turning angles.
