2. Release the wiring harness retaining clip and disconnect the wiring harness from the air regulator.
3. Loosen the clamps securing the regulator bypass air hoses (photo).

4. Unscrew the air regulator from the PCV valve hanger and remove it, separating it from the air hoses.
5. The heating bimetallic device of the regulator can be checked by connecting a multimeter (in resistance measurement mode), or battery and lamp, to the terminals. If the circuit is broken, the heater is faulty, the air regulator must be replaced.
6. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
