Attention! The air conditioning system is constantly under high pressure. Never disconnect refrigeration lines or remove any system components without first discharging the system. The discharge of the air conditioning system must be carried out by an experienced specialist in a car service workshop. Always wear safety goggles when disconnecting refrigerant lines!
When replacing air conditioning system components, a certain amount of replacement refrigerant oil will be required to fill the volume of the new assembly. Use only oil suitable for use in R-134a systems (read the label on the container carefully).
Removing
1. Discharge the air conditioning system in a specialized workshop.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Attention! If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to activate the audio system! Empty the cooling system (see chapter Settings and ongoing maintenance).
3. Disconnect the two refrigeration lines from the condenser. Seal open ends of lines and fittings immediately to prevent dirt and moisture from entering the system.
4. Remove the radiator (see Section Removal and installation of the radiator and expansion tank of the cooling system).
5. Turn out bolts of fastening of the condenser.
6. Tilt the capacitor assembly back and remove it from the motor.
Installation
1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing a new condenser, fill it with 30 ÷ 50 ml of fresh refrigerant.
2. Have the system recharged at a specialist workshop.
