Airbags — General Information (Nissan Terrano 1)
An additional safety system, which includes airbags, inertial sensors and a diagnostic unit, has been installed on cars since 1996. The system is designed to protect the driver and front passenger in the event of a collision at an angle of up to 30° relative to the vehicle's axis. The airbag with the pneumatic system is mounted in the center of the steering wheel. Therefore, in order to avoid accidents due to accidental airbag deployment, it is prohibited to remove the steering wheel on these cars without disabling the system at a car service center.
