2. Loosen the wheel nuts. Block the front wheels, lift the rear of the car. Remove the wheel, release the handbrake.
3. Remove the center cover of the brake drum or disc. Remove the pin and remove the locking ring (photo). Inspect all visible components.
12.3. Remove the cover, remove the pin, take out the locking ring
4. Tighten the hub bearing nut to the specified torque, rotate the brake drum or disc back and forth to position the bearing. Check the tightness of the nut.
5. Loosen the hub bearing nut only enough to relieve pressure from the bearing.
6. Tighten the hub bearing nut to the standard torque, rotate the brake drum or disc back and forth to position the bearing and check the tightening torque again.
7. Install the hub bearing nut locking ring so that the new pin secures the nut (photo). If necessary, the nut can be loosened no more than 15° to insert the pin into the hole.
12.7. Correctly tighten the bearing nut, install the locking ring and spread the ends of the new pin as shown
8. Install the wheel and lower the car, apply the handbrake.
9. If the torque is higher than the specified force, or if the brake drum or disc has play, repeat the adjustment procedure until the bearings are properly seated.
