Fuel level sensor — removal, inspection and installation (Nissan Bluebird T12)

1. Before you begin, please refer to the warnings given in Chapter 2.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

3. Remove the rear seat base and pads (Section 11).

4. Unscrew the four screws and remove the plate (do not damage the wiring).

5. Disconnect the wire harness.

6. Using two screwdrivers, turn the sensor assembly until it comes free.

7. Carefully remove the sensor; try not to bend the float or float arm.

8. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

9. To check the sensor, connect a multimeter to the green-yellow and black wires, measure the resistance by raising the float to the "Full" position, then lowering the float to the "Empty" position. The first value should be approximately 4.5-6 Ohms, and the second - 80-83 Ohms.

10. Replace the sensor if it is faulty.
