Differential side seals
1. Drain the transmission fluid and remove the drive shaft(s) and fender liner(s) as described in Section 8.
2. Remove the oil seal, being careful not to damage the seat. If it is difficult to remove, you can use an extractor, as shown in Figure 7.15.

3. Dip the new seal into clean transmission fluid, then seat it into the socket.
4. Before installing the drive shaft, check the friction surface of the oil seal. It may be possible to polish it with fine sandpaper,
5. Clean and lubricate the drive shaft to protect the seal lips during installation. See Section 8.
6. Fill the transmission with fluid as described above

7. Remove the transmission from the car, remove the transformer, do not spill liquid from the transformer.
8. Remove the oil seal.
9. Dip the new seal into clean transmission fluid, then seat it in place (Figure 7.16).

10. Install the transformer, then install the gearbox on the car.
