Selector lever — removal and installation (Nissan Bluebird T12)

1. Apply the handbrake, set the lever to the "P" position.

2. Remove the central console.

3. Disconnect the overdrive button and wiring harness. Remove the selector lever button assembly if necessary by removing the two screws that secure it to the lever.

4. Remove the indicator plate if required.

5. Raise the front of the vehicle and disconnect the gearshift rod from the lower end of the lever.

6. Unscrew the four nuts securing the lever assembly to the bottom of the vehicle and remove the assembly from the vehicle.

7. Note that the warning lamp is an integral part of the overdrive button and can only be replaced with the button. To check the switch, check the contact between all three terminals in the "Off" position only.

8 Installation is carried out in reverse order. If necessary, adjust the mechanism as described above.
