Assignment of the various positions of the selector lever
Selector lever movement
Attention:
To move the selector lever immediately after starting the engine, be sure to depress the brake pedal. If the brake pedal is not pressed hard enough, the vehicle may move suddenly. In order to avoid damage to the transmission, in no case do the following:
Until the car comes to a complete stop, move the lever to position P.
When moving forward, move the lever to position R.
When driving backwards, move the lever to position D, 2 or 1.
If, when moving from position P, first pull the lever and then press the brake pedal, the lever will not move. You must first press the brake pedal, and then pull the lever towards you.
Speed limits
To avoid exceeding critical engine speeds, do not drive faster than the speeds given in the table.
Unit: km/h
Overdrive switch
This button is used when the selector lever is in position D. The overdrive gear is engaged when driving under normal conditions.
Disengage overdrive in the following cases:
- When descending when light engine braking is required.
- When climbing, to avoid multiple shifts from 4th to 3rd and thus ensure a smooth ride.
Note: If the automatic transmission oil temperature is low, the overdrive may not work.
Automatic transmission mode switch
Depending on the driving conditions, you can select 3 automatic transmission modes.
During normal driving, automatic mode is used.
Power mode
Used when going uphill or accelerating. To enable this mode, you must press the button on the POWER side (the indicator on the button will light up).
Auto mode
Economy mode, used when driving under normal conditions. The switch is in the neutral position.
Snow Mode
Used when driving on snowy or slippery roads. To enable this mode, press the button on the SNOW side (the indicator on the button will light up).
In position D of the selector lever, this mode provides a large moment at the beginning of the movement on slippery roads.
If the electronic control system of the automatic transmission is faulty, after turning the ignition key to the ON position, the POWER indicator will flash for 8 seconds.
In automatic mode, the POWER indicator lights up during gearshift acceleration.
After turning the ignition key to the ON position, the POWER indicator lights up for approx. for 2 sec. This is an indicator test and is not a malfunction.
