1. Set the selector lever to position P.
2. Turn the key to the LOCK position and remove it from the ignition switch.

Note:
If the selector lever is not in position P, it will stop in position 1 when you turn the key. In this case, set the selector lever to position P, turn the key to the ON side, and then turn it to the LOCK position.
If you turn the key sharply and it stops in position 1, return it to the ON position, then slowly turn it to LOCK.
If you open the driver's door after turning off the engine without removing the key from the ignition, an audible signal will sound to remind you that the key has been left in the ignition.
If the ignition key is in the ON position, the reminder signal does not sound.
If the ignition key is removed while the interior light switch is in the center position, the interior light comes on and goes out after approximately 20 seconds.
