Lowering cable — removal and installation (Nissan Bluebird T12)

1. Loosen both deceleration cable locknuts ('A' and 'B', Figure 7.5) at the upper end of the cable, on each side of the accelerator cable hanger. Disconnect the outer cable housing from the hanger and throttle pulley.

2. Similarly, disconnect the lower end of the cable from the governor hanger and throttle lever on the transmission control valve cover (figure 7.8). Remove the cable.

3. When installing, use a new lower end cable tube and place the adjuster in the hanger, then install the upper end cable tube to the throttle pulley and place the adjuster in the accelerator cable hanger. Check that the cable moves smoothly. Apply grease to the end of the cable.

4. Position the lower adjuster so that it is at the adjustment limit (see figure 7.8) and tighten both locknuts securely. Then adjust the cable, check the movement as described in Chapter 5 (paragraph 4) of this Section.
