For throttle adjustment. Left on SR20DE engine, right on SR20Di engine
1 - adjusting nut; 2 - counter-support; 3 - throttle valve segment; 4 - locknut
Before removing the throttle cable, you need to accurately mark the position of the adjusting nut. If the nut is in the same position during installation, the throttle valve will open and close completely. Check that the throttle valve is fully open when the gas pedal is depressed and returns to the idle position when the gas pedal is released. If necessary, replace the throttle cable:
1. Disconnect the throttle cable from the lever on the gas pedal.
2. Loosen both nuts on the throttle cable stopper (see illustration), so that the cable can be pulled out. Rotate the throttle segment against the force of the spring and disconnect the end of the cable from the throttle segment.
3. Remove the cable attachment at the end of the engine compartment and remove the cable from the side of the engine compartment.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Adjust the cable as follows:
4. Tighten the cable adjusting nut, i.e. the nut farthest from the throttle segment, until the segment begins to move.
5. From this position, back off the adjusting nut 1.5-2 turns and tighten the locknut on the opposite side of the counterholder.
6. Depress the gas pedal and check if the throttle is fully open.
