10 - exhaust gas pressure control valve; 11 - control valve of the exhaust gas return system and activated carbon adsorber; 12 - triple connection; 13 - exhaust gas return valve; 14 - fuel pressure regulator; 15 - control valve; 16 - activated carbon adsorber
On the SR20DE engine, it is not difficult to connect the vacuum hoses correctly. It should be remembered that the hoses of the absorber and the activated carbon should not be confused, since one is connected to the intake manifold, and the other to the throttle body. The third hose is connected between the pressure regulator and the intake manifold.
The opposite is the hose connection on the SR20Di engine, as there are 9 different hoses connected on this engine. The illustration shows how these hoses are routed. View "A" on the underside shows the switch valve (15) from the back so you can see where the hoses are connected. The individual hoses are routed as follows:
1. The hose (1) is routed between the exhaust gas return valve (13) and the exhaust gas control valve (10).
2. The hose (2) is connected between the exhaust gas control valve (10) and the three-way connection (12).
3. The hose (3) is connected between the triple connection (12) and the exhaust gas return system and activated carbon canister regulating valve (11).
4. The hose (4) is connected between the exhaust gas return system and activated carbon canister (11) control valve and the vacuum line.

5. The hose (5) is connected between the vacuum line and the air filter.
6. Hose (6) is connected between the exhaust gas return system and activated carbon canister regulating valve and the lower part of the throttle body.
7. The hose (7) is connected between the box with activated carbon (16) and the tee (12).
8. The hose (8) is connected between the switching valve (15) and the inlet pipe.
9. The hose (9) is connected between the fuel pressure regulator (14) and the lower part of the throttle body.
10. On an engine without a catalytic converter there are only hoses (8) and (9).
11. All hoses are secured with clamps and ties. When installing and connecting hoses, the clamps must be secured in the same position. Do not leave the hoses hanging loose, as they can fray in a short time. Pay special attention not to mix up the hoses on the adsorber with activated carbon, as the afterburning of gasoline vapors will not occur.
