10 - exhaust gas pressure control valve; 11 - control valve of the exhaust gas return system and activated carbon adsorber; 12 - triple connection; 13 - exhaust gas return valve; 14 - fuel pressure regulator; 15 - control valve; 16 - activated carbon adsorber
On the SR20DE engine, it is not difficult to properly connect the vacuum hoses. Remember not to confuse the activated charcoal canister hoses, as one is connected to the intake manifold and the other to the throttle body. A third hose is connected between the pressure regulator and the intake manifold.
The opposite of this is the connection of the hoses on the SR20Di engine, since there are 9 different hoses connected on this engine. The illustration shows how these hoses are routed. View "A" on the underside shows the changeover valve (15) on the reverse side so that you can see where the hoses are connected. The individual hoses are routed as follows:
1. Hose (1) routed between the exhaust gas return valve (13) and exhaust gas control valve (10).
2. Hose (2) connected between the exhaust gas control valve (10) and triple connection (12).
3. Hose (3) connected between triple connection (12) and regulating valve of the exhaust gas return system and activated carbon adsorber (11).
4. Hose (4) connected between the control valve of the exhaust gas return system and the activated charcoal canister (11) and vacuum piping.
5. Hose (5) connected between the vacuum line and the air filter.
6. Hose (6) connected between the EGR and activated charcoal canister control valve and the bottom of the throttle body.
7. Hose (7) connected between activated carbon box (16) and tee (12).
8. Hose (8) connected between changeover valve (15) and inlet pipeline.
9. Hose (9) connected between the fuel pressure regulator (14) and the bottom of the throttle body.
10. On an engine without a catalyst, there are only hoses (8) And (9).
11. All hoses are secured with clamps and ties. When installing and connecting hoses, the clamps must be fastened in the same position. Do not leave hoses hanging loose, as they may fray in a short time. Pay special attention not to confuse the hoses on the activated carbon canister, as there will be no afterburning of gasoline vapors.
