Removal and installation
WARNINGS:
- Keep oil and grease away from the vacuum hose and valve.
- Put the hose on the nozzles as shown in the figure.
- Observe the correct orientation when installing the valve.
Examination
Vacuum hoses must not show cracks, signs of chafing or destruction.
The valve must hold a vacuum when a vacuum pump is connected to it from the booster side.
Vacuum sensor (diesel engines). Check the resistance between the sensor contacts. When the vacuum at the sensor inlet is less than 26.7 kPa (200 mmHg) contacts must be closed, and with a vacuum of more than 33.3 kPa (250 mmHg) - open.
Vacuum pump (diesel engine). Attach a vacuum gauge and check the vacuum at the pump outlet.
For the CD20 engine, it must be at least 86.6 kPa (650 mmHg Art.) at a speed of 1000 min-1, and for the CD20E engine - not less than 93.3 kPa (700 mmHg Art.) at idle (800 min-1).
